Deed and mortgage fraud is one of the fastest growing white-collar crimes in America.

Deed and Mortgage Fraud (aka “house stealing”) happens when a fraudulent document is recorded against a property. Someone steals your identity, forges your name, and takes title of your home. In many cases, the rightful owner may not even be aware that a deed or mortgage was recorded against their property.

To help protect property owners and tax payers in our county, the Harrison County Chancery Clerks office has implemented the DuProcess Property Fraud Alert Service. This add-on service makes it easy for you to enter your name (personal or business) and receive notifications of newly recorded documents that match.
